Antique end tables are a great find and these beautiful pieces of furniture can be used to create drama to any room. Decorators are often on the prowl trying to locate the choice ones for their clients, and even for their own showrooms. Many of the better quality tables are offered for sale at auctions, estate sales and by dealers and shops online. The prices can be extremely high for the rare or most unusual pieces, but there are also many bargains that are available.
Today you can find new reproductions of antique end tables that are much cheaper to purchase if you are working with a small budget. You are still able to get the look and style of the furniture that you wanted but at half the cost or less. This is an alternative that some people choose, but others do not want to settle for anything other than the real deal and this is very understandable. The prices on true antiques continues to climb and if you purchase original piece of furniture that dealers and other collectors find desirable you can consider it an investment. Should there come a time when you decide to sell this item then you will find a market for it, which is not so likely if you have a new reproduction piece.
Designers and decorators often tell their clients that having one or two good pieces of quality furniture is much more important than having rooms full of shoddy and inferior pieces. This statement holds true for accent pieces too, including tables, small chairs and even picture frames and wall hangings. Today many dealers are willing to help a customer look for a particular antique that they want, but you can also find some great bargains by doing some detective and investigating for yourself. Visit some local auctions and garage sales and sift through the pieces of furniture for items of interest. Many fine and valuable antique end tables have been found by amateurs who wanted to find a good bargain.
